Welcome

Dear reader:

This platform aims to encourage discussion, exchange of data and information to increase the understanding of countries that do not provide troops (NCCs) to United Nations peace operations. In this website, you will find the first scholarly research on NCCs and peacekeeping conducted on 2005-7. I am currently creating the 2008 version of why some countries do not contribute troops. You have been kindly contacted because we would greatly appreciate your opinion to further understand why your country does not provide troops.

Because each country faces different challenges, problems, needs, and aspirations, understanding them is the key to increase the knowledge of the position on each country on issues such as a peacekeeping. And this is extremelly important, because now more than ever, the international community must increase the efforts of understanding each of its members on critical issues such as peace operations. Hence, this platform aims to increase the understanding of why some countries do not provide troops to United Nations peace operations.

The first version of our research included diplomats, UNDPKO personnel, politicians, mililtary personnel, academics, journalists, and students who were invited to participate submitting data to streghten the understanding of each of the NCCs.

Your participation can make a difference in the understanding of your country. The participation of all of us, make a difference in the understanding on who we are as member states of the United Nations.
